Buckets of Hope for Haiti
Bring your completed bucket to the church office on Sunday, March 14, 2010.
You can change a life by filling a Bucket of Hope for a family in Haiti still suffering from the earthquake. Simply start with a new, five-gallon bucket and add about $30 worth of specified food items (no substitutions, please). Here's how to help:
- Download the flyer. This contains the shopping list and precise packing instructions.
- Buy a bucket. Call ahead to Walmart, Home Depot, or Lowe's (or a paint store) to make sure they have five-gallon buckets in stock.
- Buy the food items. Please follow the shopping list. Generic food items are suggested, as they allow your money to go farther.
- Pack your bucket carefully. (Yes, it will be a tight fit.) In addition to using the printed packing instructions, you may want to watch this video.
- Include $10 cash (or check payable to First Baptist Church) in an envelope taped to the top of the lid. This will help offset the cost of transporting the buckets to Haiti.
- Bring your bucket to the church office on Sunday, March 14. Volunteers from the Missions Committee will be available to receive the buckets and collect the donations for shipping.
Buckets from throughout Florida and the U.S. will be transported to Hialeah, Florida and then immediately shipped to Haiti. Additional information is available at
