Hanging of the Green is held on the first Sunday evening of Advent (December 2, 2012) and is a celebration of the beginning of that joyous season.  The sanctuary is decorated, Christmas carols are sung, and many music groups perform special music.  The highlight of the evening is the presentation of the manger scene by our children's choirs.

 

The annual Christmas Celebration is the largest musical production of the year.  It features the Christmas Choir and full orchestra with drama and dance.  This production brings our entire church together in celebration of the birth of the the Lord Jesus Christ.  This year, come celebrate the "Light of the World" on December 9 at 6:00PM.

 

The most exciting even of the handbell year is Ring in the Season, when the Bells of Praise are joined in the FBC sanctuary by numerous other bell choirs from the Tallahassee area.  Together, they present a Christmas gift to the community with hundreds of bells ringing joyful Christmas carols.  This concert is held on the first Saturday afternoon of December.  This is a one-of-a-kind event in our area and has become a tradition for many Tallahassee families.

 

 

The children's musical is presented each spring by the 1st-5th grade Transformers.  Auditions for speaking parts and solos are generally held in January.  The children look forward each year to this major production with drama, scenery, lights, and costumes. 

 

The youth choir presents a fun-filled show of music and dance for the entire church in the spring.  The youth share their talents as they raise funds for a good cause: the youth choir mission trip!
