Serve In His NameSpecial Opportunities
- As part of our partnership with ECHO to help those in our community, we will pass out grocery bags after both worship services THIS SUNDAY. Please take a bag and fill it with the required food supplies, and plan to return it to the church next Sunday, February 12.
- The Youth Choir Tour is coming up in June and there are youth who would like to work to earn money to put toward the trip. If you have yard work, house work, or need a babysitter and would like to help out one of our youth, please call Amy Baker (671.3754 or 284.3754) on or before May 15 to set up a time and date. Thank you!
- Save the date: the annual "Hope for Haiti" fundraiser to support the music/leadership camp at the University of Northern Haiti will be held this year on Saturday, March 3. The festivities are at the home of Janet Ray, from 11:00AM till 2:00PM, and include a silent auction of Haitian art, Caribbean music, a performance by a Haitian musician, and a fun time of fellowship! Stay tuned for more information.
Weekly Opportunities
- TECHNICAL MINISTRY - Have you ever wanted to learn how to operate a TV camera or the sound board for a worship service? Here is your chance! The media ministry is looking for volunteers who are interested in advancing the message of Christ through audio and video technologies. If you feel the Lord calling you to serve the church in a hands-on, behind-the-scenes capacity, contact Lee Shell. Training will be provided; the only requirement is a willingness to serve joyfully!
- CHILDREN'S MINISTRY - If you would like to volunteer on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings with our children, contact Rhonda.
- VISITATION - Every Monday morning, a group meets at the church to take flowers to our elderly and homebound members. We are always in need of more volunteers! If you would like to participate in this ministry, please contact Joyce (x121 or joyce@fbctlh.org) for more information.
Monthly Opportunities
- Feeding the homeless - each month, a different group from our church gathers together to cook and serve a meal at The Shelter. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Bill Tharpe.
- Florida Baptist Children's Home - February Request: linens
Collection bins are in the College Avenue foyer, the Welcome Center, by the elevator on the first floor of the Adams Building, and in the main office.
- We've taken stock of our linen supply and find that we are in need of sheets, pillow slips, towels, and washcloths. We have all twin size beds for the children. We like to use all white linens since they are easy to bleach when needed. White bath and hand towels along with washcloths would also be appreciated. You can well imagine the amount of laundry we have and a few extra items in the linen closet are a great help.
