Edna Roberts Lambert There are a few people who not only touch our lives, but seem to etch an indelible mark upon all those whose lives may brush with theirs. Such a person deserves a celebration of their life, of their accomplishments and their everlasting life with the Lord. Edna Roberts Lambert, born August 27, 1920, in Tallahassee entered Heaven Friday, December 14, 2007 from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Teaching and learning are opposite sides of the same coin; one cannot exist without the other. This is something Edna Lambert taught us. She could make her students tow the line to be responsible and accountable, but at the same time they never questioned her love and caring for them. A third grade teacher, teacher of at-risk students, and a Sunday School teacher, one could say Edna's heart pumped and her lungs breathed the ABC's and 123's everyday. She had a way with children that will forever carry her messages of love, learning and faith to many generations. She is survived by her son, Dr. Clint Lambert and his wife, Dr. Vickie Lambert, of Odenton, Md., and their daughter, Alexandra Lambert of Falls Church, Va.; and by her daughter, Renee Lawson and her husband, Tom, of Grand Rapids and their children, Leah Martin and her fiancé, Collin Hansen, of Heathrow, Fla., and Becca Martin of Jacksonville, Fla. Edna was blessed with a large family in Florida. Her husband, Clinton Elbert Lambert Sr., his parents, brothers and sister, her parents, Tom and Ruth (Blount) Roberts, and her siblings, Deanie Norred, Gwen Slocumb, Tommie Roberts, Glenda Harvey and Shirley Acord predeceased her. Her brother, Andrew Roberts and his wife, Martha and her sister, Laverne Slocumb, along with her sister-in-law, Edna Lambert, all of Tallahassee, and many loving nieces and nephews across the country also survive her. Edna was also blessed by the loving care she received at Michigan Christian Home, and from Dr. Joanne Grzeszak and her staff. Please join us at 1 p.m. EST Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Roselawn Cemetery, Tallahassee, for a Celebration of Edna's life; Fran Buhler of First Baptist Church, Tallahassee, is officiating.
