Avoid Car Towing
From Steve Wofford, FBC Administrator

Many of our members park for Sunday worship using the Greenburg Traurig law firm parking lot located on College Avenue across the street from the Jasmine Cafe. Due to new security structures being constructed, that lot will be permanently unavailable to our members for parking, effective this Sunday. We are thankful to the Greenburg firm for the free use of their lot for many years, and wish them every success in securing their parking lot during legislative session, which was their primary concern.

Easter Sermon Series:
" A Living Lord "

When you look at the resurrection texts in the Gospels, you wonder how anyone could have missed the Risen Jesus. But then you consider how the same thing happens today and you begin to understand how such a discovery requires our openness to him. Like other holidays, even Easter can come upon us before we know it. But what a tragedy when that happens and people haven't prepared adequately to see Jesus and experience his Easter power. Don't let that happen to you. Join us in worship as we walk with Jesus to Calvary, the Empty Tomb, and most importantly, beyond.

Florida Baptist Children’s Home
MARCH REQUEST: DISH TOWELS, DISHCLOTHS, and POT HOLDERS
FBC members donate items each month to the Tallahassee campus of the Florida Baptist Children’s Home (fbchomes.org), which has been helping children and families since 1904.
Our kitchens are always busy. Your donations this month of dish towels, dishcloths, and pot holders will be a big help to us in completing our kitchens chores.
Collection bins are in the College Avenue foyer, the Welcome Center, and by the elevator on the first floor.

This Sunday we are pleased to welcome Walker Sherman as our new contemporary worship leader. Walker is a student at Baptist College of Florida in Graceville, majoring in Biblical Studies. He is a guitarist, drummer, singer, and songwriter with years of experience as a worship leader in a variety of settings. We are so excited that he has felt and responded to God’s call to use his gifts in leadership at First Baptist. Please take a moment to give Walker a personal word of welcome.

At the same time, we want to officially “welcome” and affirm Pam Cooke as our Associate Minister of Music for Contemporary Worship. Pam has been involved in the leadership of the praise team and in the entire process of planning and producing our contemporary worship since its inception. Through her work in music, drama, creative media and worship coordination, she has proven herself to be a capable, committed and creative spiritual leader and our search committee is proud to formally announce her as their choice for this position.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to Amy Parker for her gifted and faithful leadership over the past 10 months. She has done much more than just keep us “afloat” as we have searched for a permanent worship leader. She has given sacrificially of herself to fulfill this position and move us forward and we are deeply grateful. Along with Amy and Drew, we look forward to welcoming the newest member of the Parker family in the near future!</font>

Dear church family:
Thank you for your generous expressions of love during this difficult time for my family and me. The loss of both my parents—within just 16 days of each other—has been overwhelming, but I know God’s timing is perfect. Neither of my parents wanted to live a day without the other, and so after 65 wonderful years of marriage, they are now together again. Through your cards, calls, visits, hugs, and preparation of food when we were completely exhausted, we felt God’s loving arms around us. We thank God for each of you.
In Christ, Bonnie & Bob Snyder and Family

VPK Program Receives a Perfect Score!
The Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program helps 4-year-olds be better prepared for kindergarten and every year the State of Florida gives a rating to each VPK program. This year’s ratings are based on the children who left the program last year and are now in kindergarten. First Baptist Church’s Weekday Early Education began its VPK program 3 years ago. A VPK program can score up to 300 points. Last year our score was higher than most schools at a 274. This year we scored a perfect 300! Many thanks to our VPK teachers Joyce Lane and Stephanie Bodiford, assisted by Karen Freeman and Teresa Anderson-Green.
