Updating our database with your current email address will be an invaluable communication tool in the coming months. (If you do not have email or prefer not to share this information, we will still keep in touch with you via postal mail.)

Sermon Series:
"Beliefs That Build Community"

The coming days will be filled with excitement as we position ourselves for extending our witness into the community. Our church’s vision is to grow up and grow out. But as everyone knows, buildings are only good as their foundations. Actions flow from beliefs. So, let’s consider what the essence of our belief is in order that the community we endeavor to build will honor Christ and strengthen our church.

Hope for Haiti Fundraiser
Saturday, February 23, 11 am - 2pm
Home of Janet Ray (3431 Woodley Rd)

Don’t forget to mark your calender for the Hope for Haiti fundraiser. This year let’s make enough money to provide clean water and a generator for the Christian University of Northern Haiti! This small school has been a haven for Christians in this impoverished voodoo country. Stop by between 11 am and 2 pm and enjoy lunch and music by Haitian vocalist Louima Lilite. Come meet the director of Hope for Haiti, Debbie Heneise, and take part in the silent auction, which will include some fabulous Haitian arts and metal crafts. Tickets are by donation and will be sold in Sunday Morning Bible Study or the Welcome Center on February 10 and 17.

Order Easter Lilies

Easter is just around the corner, and we will decorate our sanctuary with beautiful Easter lilies. If you wish to place one or more lilies in memory of or in honor of a loved one, order envelopes are available in the main church office, or contact Lenoir Brewer at x201 or lbrewer@fbcthl.org. Orders need to be received by Monday, March 17. Thank you for your donation. These lilies will be delivered to the homebound after Easter Sunday.

Musicians & Volunteers Needed for
Hope for Haiti Fundraiser

Saturday, February 23, 11 am - 2 pm

We need volunteers to help make this fundraiser a success! Musicians are needed to play background music on a rotating basis. Volunteers are also needed to provide food and drinks, assist with parking, sell tickets after the services, setup and take-down, and so much more! Contact Janet Ray at
893-4207.

Need a Hand?
Our college students are looking for odd jobs (yard work, window cleaning, raking leaves, etc.) to earn scholarship money for upcoming college ministry activities such as Spring Retreat, Challenge and Mission Trips. If you are interested and need an extra hand contact the Student Ministry Office at 222-5470 x421. Thank you for your help and support of our college students.

Make a Change with Soup Labels!
For many years First Baptist members have been collecting Campbell’s soup labels to send to our missionaries. The missionaries use these to receive various items for their work from the Campbell’s Soup Company -- after school supplies, games, computers, sports equipment, even much needed buses!
Campbell’s Soup Company still plans to continue this program, but they are now requiring that the UPC Bar Code symbol on the back of the soup label be sent in instead of the front label. Be sure to save your bar codes and give them to Jean Fernald or leave them in the church office. This is such an easy way to make a huge difference!

Florida Baptist Children's Home
FEBRUARY REQUEST: HOME CLEANING PRODUCTS

FBC members donate items each month to the Tallahassee campus of the Florida Baptist Children’s Home (fbchomes.org), which has been helping children and families since 1904.
Our special need for February is home cleaning products: kitchen, bathroom, window, dusting, and floor cleaning products will be most welcomed and will be put to good use!
Collection bins are in the College Avenue foyer, the Welcome Center, and by the elevator on the first floor.

Dear Church Family,
Kristy and I would like to take this opportunity to say a big heart felt thank you for all of the prayers and support that you, our eternal family, have provided during my diagnosis, surgery and continued recovery. Your thoughtfulness and compassion have been humbling and simply astonishing. We count ourselves blessed to be a part of such a phenominal group of believers and to have so many brother and sisters. We pray God’s continued blessings on you and yours and “Thank You” just doesn’t quite begin to explain the intense gratitude we feel.
Love In Christ, Rod and Kristy Jones.

Dear First Family,
We would like to take this opportunity to say “thank you” for your many prayers, prayer grams, cards and phone calls duringmy recent illness. We are so appreciative to our church family for all that they do.
In Christian Love, Teman and Mary Gandy.

Dear Family,
Thank you First Baptist Church for the prayers, cards and food when my husband was so sick and then died. Thank you to the men who visited him regularly and always brought flowers. Also for the delicious food brought out to us by Charles Lawson and to Fran Buhler for his care and concern for us and the beautiful service. Also to Coleman Thompson, who had a part in it. It is so great to be a member of First Baptist Church.
In Christian Love, Jean Bivins
