By giving this Christmas season, you can provide a special Christmas dinner for the girls we worked with at the Manchen Girls Home. $7 per person will provide food, drinks, and dessert for the 100 girls and 12 caregivers who rarely receive such a treat. Those who contribute can also send a Christmas card and picture to the girls if you wish!
Make checks out to First Baptist Church, and designate them to the Guatemala Christmas Offering. Contributions need to be received by November 18. Contact Bob Pullen at 562-1466 or jobob3118@aol.com for more information.

Plan Ahead for Your Christmas Shoeboxes!
Purchase your Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox packed, wrapped and ready to go,and help our Bells of Praise buy a much-needed new set of handbells.

This year, there is a simple and convenient way for you to send love to a needy child overseas and support our own FBC Handbell Choir at the same time. Our Bells of Praise choir members are preparing complete Samaritan’s Purse shoeboxes, packed, wrapped and ready to go for a total cost to you of $35. This price includes the shipping fee requested by Samaritan’s Purse. The boxes will be ready and available in time for collection day on Sunday, November 18. Proceeds go toward the purchase of a new 5-octave set of handbells to replace our 35 year-old set. Call the music office at 222-5470 x201 to order yours now.

Make a Change with Soup Labels!
For many years First Baptist members have been collecting Campbell’s soup labels to send to our missionaries. The missionaries use these to receive various items for their work from the Campbell’s Soup Company -- after school supplies, games, computers, sports equipment, even much needed buses!
Campbell’s Soup Company still plans to continue this program, but they are now requiring that the UPC Bar Code symbol on the back of the soup label be sent in instead of the front label. Be sure to save your bar codes and give them to Jean Fernald or leave them in the church office. This is such an easy way to make a huge difference!

First Love 2007
Thank you notes continue to arrive from individuals and organizations that were touched by your acts of service!

“Thank you for your very large food donation! I counted at least 150 bags of food and most were filled to the top. That will be enough food to last us well into the holidays, which is our busiest time. Thank you for your caring and generosity in helping to feed our less fortunate neighbors here in Leon County. And thank you for all your hard work during First Love! The reorganization of the warehouse may not seem like much, but it is very important to us who have to work in it every day.”

“The room is BEAUTIFUL. I can’t believe it. I cannot thank you enough for thinking of Girls and Boys Town. It is obvious that First Baptist is full of LOVE!!!”

Dear Church Family,
Thank you so much for your prayers, cards, prayergrams, telephone calls and visits during my recent illness. I am so thankful for you!
Love,
JoAnn Hunt

Dear Church Family,
Thank you to all who continue to pray for me and think about me during my stay at Harborchase Assisted Living, particularly Juanita Cruce and Martha Foster. It means so much to me to hear from my church family.
-Charlie Mae Brock

Dear Friends, especially Eileen Flavin,
Thank you for the prayergram and all the support, love, prayers, and help you have given us. We pray the good Lord will bless each of you.
In Jesus’ name,
-Ann and Joe Boyd

Dear Church Family,
We are so grateful for the love and support you extended to our family after the passing of our mother, Dorothy Harrell. The visits, phone calls, and many cards were uplifting and greatly appreciated, as was having so many of you come and share in the celebration of her life. The food and other supplies were wonderful; they helped feed a large crowd of extended family. We are thankful to be a part of such a warm, caring church.
-Perry and Evelyn Harrell and family
