Trunk’er Treat Volunteers Needed!
Wednesday, October 31

Our children always enjoy this annual evening of fun, games, and costumes! In order to make this event a success, we are looking for volunteers to host with a decorated car trunk or van tailgate and pass out candy, run activity booths and food services, or to donate candy. This is a great way to get your family, friends, or Bible study group involved with our children’s ministry! For more information or to volunteer, contact Preston Odom at x410 or Rhonda Smith at x501.

ECHO Food Drive
October 13 & 14

As part of our First Love weekend, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for ECHO. Bags will be passed out next Sunday, October 7, and food can be brought Saturday, October 13 during First Love or Sunday, October 14. Help support this important ministry that feeds the hungry and the homeless in our area.

Plan Ahead for Your Christmas Shoeboxes!
Purchase your Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox packed, wrapped and ready to go,and help our Bells of Praise buy a much-needed new set of handbells.

This year, there is a simple and convenient way for you to send love to a needy child overseas and support our own FBC Handbell Choir at the same time. Our Bells of Praise choir members are preparing complete Samaritan’s Purse shoeboxes, packed, wrapped and ready to go for a total cost to you of $35. This price includes the shipping fee requested by Samaritan’s Purse. The boxes will be ready and available in time for collection day on Sunday, November 18. Proceeds go toward the purchase of a new 5-octave set of handbells to replace our 35 year-old set. Call the music office at 222-5470 x201 to order yours now.

Make a Change with Soup Labels!
For many years First Baptist members have been collecting Campbell’s soup labels to send to our missionaries. The missionaries use these to receive various items for their work from the Campbell’s Soup Company -- after school supplies, games, computers, sports equipment, even much needed buses!
Campbell’s Soup Company still plans to continue this program, but they are now requiring that the UPC Bar Code symbol on the back of the soup label be sent in instead of the front label. Be sure to save your bar codes and give them to Jean Fernald or leave them in the church office. This is such an easy way to make a huge difference!

Bud Vases Needed!
The shut in visitation program is in need of bud vases (bud vases only, please). You may drop them off in the front office or place them in the kitchen beside the parlor. Thank you!

Sanctuary Flowers
We have several Sundays available in September and October to place flowers in the sanctuary. Flowers are such a beautiful way to honor a loved one and to magnify the glory of the Lord. Please check the flower board in the visitor center for availability, or call the office 222-5470 x 201.

Florida Baptist Children's Home
SEPTEMBER REQUEST: BABY DIAPERS AND WIPES

FBC members donate items each month to the Tallahassee campus of the Florida Baptist Children’s Home (fbchomes.org), which has been helping children and families since 1904.

We would appreciate your help in keeping our babies comfortable and happy. All sizes and brands of diapers can be used. You may wish to share the purchase of this request with a friend. Collection bins are in the College Avenue foyer, the Welcome Center, and by the elevator on the first floor.

Dear Church Family,
My wife and I would like to thank you for your caring thoughts and prayers. I have been under treatment for my illness for nearly one year now. By God’s grace and mercy and with your prayers, my body’s response to the treatment has been phenomenal. I feel God has been leading me day by day on the road to recovery. With great hope and joy I look forward to the day God delivers me from my illness and sets me free. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. Again, thank you and God bless you. We love you all.
In Christ,
Eutiquio and Nena Young
