Whoever said it first said it best. “Life is difficult.” Part of the difficulty lies in the questions life poses. They’re big questions to be sure. But faith does not fear life’s big questions, because faith has big answers. |

Lillian Isaacs Literacy Missions Award
Nominations Now Accepted
Lillian Isaacs, a faithful member of First Baptist and the International Ministry, will be recognized this year by the Florida Southern Baptist Convention with an award named in her honor. If you would like to nominate someone who has worked with literacy missions for at least two years and is currently serving in this ministry, please pick up a nomination form in the front office. The award will consist of an individual gift and a monetary gift to the recipient’s literacy missions program. All nominations must be submitted to the convention by August 17.

“Give-Away Days” for
FSU International Students
August 17-18
A new school year is approaching, and many international students will arrive with only a few suitcases and very few resources for an apartment. The FSU Baptist Collegiate Ministry needs your help to show Jesus’ love to these students by donating quality new or used furniture, small appliances, and kitchen items to the BCM! Donations are accepted throughout the year, but the main “give-away days” are August 17-18. Tax donation letters are available. Please contact the BCM at fsubcm@fsubcm.org or 222-4444.
Florida Baptist Children's Home
AUGUST REQUEST: FOOD STORAGE PRODUCTS
FBC members donate items each month to the Tallahassee campus of the Florida Baptist Children’s Home (fbchomes.org), which has been helping children and families since 1904.
Our food drive is coming up soon. We’ll be receiving items that we would like to freeze or store. Plastic food containers in all sizes would be a great help. We also would welcome gallon size plastic freezer bags as well as regular plastic bags in all sizes. School will be starting this month so we’ll be packing lunches again! Collection bins are in the College Avenue foyer, the Welcome Center, and by the elevator on the first floor. |

Dear First Baptist Family,
I want you to know how much I appreciate all the things you did while I was recovering from recent surgery - the phone calls, cards, food, flowers and especially your prayers. You are a loving church family.
Thank you,
