Be in prayer for our mission team as they travel to Guatemala on Saturday, June 16. Forty-nine team members will be serving in three areas: Team 1 will be doing repair and construction work at the Manchen Girls Home in Antigua; Team 2 will be working with preschoolers in the morning and teenage girls in the afternoons in Antigua; and Team 3 will be working with preschoolers in the morning and teenage boys in the afternoon in Guatemala City. New Discovery Bible Study Group!
Sunday Mornings at 9:30
Begin your “discovery” this Sunday! If you’re out of town, come the following Sundays. We’ll still let you in! The new Discovery Bible study group for adults gets underway at 9:30 am in D-300, located in the Duval Wing on the west side of the sanctuary, on the third floor at the top of the stairwell facing the Capitol.
If you enjoy contemporary worship at 11:00 am and want to get connected with other 11 o’clock worshippers, this new small group Bible study is just for you!
Discovery Bible study will be taught by Marty Stubblefield, a faithful husband and father of three. Marty is a deacon, local banker and businessman, and an avid “hoopster” who still has memories. He will be leading studies that focus on key Biblical topics of interest to you.
Discover God’s Word for your life as you discover new friendships. Connect with other 11 o’clock worshippers. Invite others to worship and Bible study at FBC. It’s a Sunday combo you shouldn’t miss! |

International Ministry News
On Thursday, May 17th, the International Ministry of First Baptist Church concluded a most successful year of English classes. Our volunteers: teachers, refreshment coordinators, drivers, musicians, child care providers and secretaries have done a marvelous job this year.
We want to say a sincere ‘thank you’ to the Bible study classes, WMU groups and individual persons who provided the refreshments for an entire session…your food was enjoyed by our students and the love with which it was given blessed everyone. Hardly a class went by without someone saying, “Who brought this food and why did they do it?” Our answer was always, “the people in our church provided the refreshments because they love you.” You can’t have a better witness for the love of Jesus than this! It is foreign missions right here at home.
This year we averaged over one hundred per week in our classes, which included students from over thirty countries. Several of our students have begun to attend Sunday Bible study. Praise the Lord.
Now we look forward to September and another opportunity to reach many who have never heard of Jesus and, unless we are faithful, may never hear. Please pray for the International Ministry and ask God how you and your group can be actively involved next year. We need everyone, we really do!

Dear FBC Family,
This past month has been like a long nightmare - and I could not have made it without the prayers, support, love, cards, gifts, food, phone calls and other acts of kindness during my Mom’s demise and my health issue. It is beyond me how folks get through life’s crises without the love and support of Christian friends - and I never want to know- You have convinced me again that our FBC is the best church on the planet! May God richly bless each one of you as we seek His will in our lives and carry out the Great Commission.
Love, Virginia Glass
Dear Friends,
Thanks so much for everything! Your expression of love through prayer, thoughts and food meant so much to our family. In times like these, it is so comforting to have such dear and caring friends.
With sincere thanks for your thoughtful expression of sympathy,
The Langston Family |
