ECHO Food Drive
June 10, Sacks Passed Out on June 3

The annual ECHO Food Drive is coming! Sacks will be passed out after both services on June 3, and trucks will be waiting in the parking lot on Sunday, June 10, to pick up your non-perishable food items. Help support this important ministry that feeds the hungry and the homeless in our area.

Hurricane Relief Clothing Drive
Have you pulled out your SUMMER CLOTHES and found a few VERY NICE items that you could share with some of the hurricane victims in Louisiana? Chalmette, LA and the entire St. Bernard Parish was flooded during hurricane Katrina. Some houses were flooded up to the rooftops and people lost most of their clothes along with so many other things.
As you can imagine, people cannot replace their entire wardrobe in a short period after losing almost everything else. As an outreach to its community, First Baptist Church of Chalmette, LA will be giving clothing away at its church site during this summer’s reconstruction of its church buildings by Builders For Christ. When First Baptist of Tallahassee’s Builders For Christ team goes to Chalmette in June, we would like to take clothing for distribution there. Here’s how you can help.

1. By the end of May, go through your closet and find 4 or 5 VERY NICE articles of SUMMER clothing that you would like to make available to be given away by First Baptist Church of Chalmette.

2. Place a piece of masking tape on the front top of the article identifying the size and whether it is a men’s, women’s, boy’s or girl’s item and its size.

3. Sort the clothes into the following groups, put them into trash bags, and label the trash bags (even if there is only 1 item in a bag) as follows:
a. men’s pants
b. men’s shirts
c. women’s pants
d. women’s tops
e. children’s

4. Drop the very nice, barely worn summer clothes off at the church office. If you have questions, contact Richard Tudor at tudorrn@yahoo.com or
386-5424.

Our May request is for all kinds of tape products. Items such as regular Scotch tape, doubled sided, mailing, masking, and duct tape are used in all phases of our program. All sizes and brands can be used. Collection bins are in the College Avenue foyer, the Welcome Center, and by the elevator on the first floor.
