Building 4 Community Update

The Building 4 Community committee would like to thank everyone who participated in the listening sessions on February 19 and 20. We had a great turnout – over 200 people represented ten ministry areas of our church. Mark Limbaugh, Dave Reese, and Rick Batson from TurnerBatson Architects were pleased with the number of people present, the spirit they embodied, and the ideas they shared.

Since that time, the committee has held two additional meetings with TurnerBatson. One was held on March 7 for the purpose of evaluating responses from the listening sessions. The other was held on March 28 as the first of a series of meetings to be held every three weeks through the month of May.

We have no details to share at this time, but the committee is excited about the direction of the process. We believe that the architects have some very good ideas and enough guidance to allow us to bring an interim report to the church on May 20. While the master plan will not be complete until mid-summer, we think May 20 will serve as a good date for a progress report to the church as a whole.

While the architects plan and the committee meets, please remember your role. Continue to follow Dr. Dortch's exhortation to pray for our church, invite others to come, and give of your resources. Finally, remember that we will "Shout, for the Lord has given us the city!"
